AbstractThe paper has developed an adaptive algorithm using neural network for controlling dual-arm robotic system in stable holding a rectangle object and moving it to track the desired trajectories. Firstly, an overall dynamic of the system including the dual-arm robot and the object is derived based on Euler-Lagrangian principle. Then based on the dynamics, a controller has proposed to achieve the desired trajectories of the holding object. A radial basis neural network has been applied to compensate uncertainties of system parameters. The adaptive learning algorithm has been derived owning to Lyapunov stability principle to guarantee asymptotical convergence of the closed loop system. Besides, force control at contact point is implemented without the measurements of forces and moments at contact points. Finally, simulation work on Matlab has been carried out to confirm the accuracy and the effectiveness of the proposed controller.

AbstractIn recent years, iris recognition has been emerged as one of the most popular biometric techniques because it guarantees high universality, distinctiveness, permanence, collectability, performance, acceptability, circumvention. In the paper we propose an improved system for iris recognition with high accuracy by fusing curvelet and dual tree complex wavelet transform. In our system, the main features are extracted from pre-processed/normalized iris images using both curvelet and Dual Tree Complex Wavelet Transform (DTCWT) tranforms. After performing different classifiers independently, all the results are fused to get final classification in the decision level to increase the accuracy of system. Finally, the random forest classifier and CATIA dataset are used to measure the performance of the proposed method. The experimental results show that the technique of the paper based on fusion of the curvelet and DTCWT is promising when compared with other existing similar techniques.

AbstractThe aim of this study is to obtain the copper-binding protein hydrolysate from the white leg shrimp head (WLSH) by-product using enzymatic hydrolysis. The outcome indicated that the copper-binding capacity (CBC) of the WLSH protein hydrolysate achieved the maximum value of 19.4±0.5 mg Cu2+/g protein with hydrolysis conditions including Flavourzyme preparation, pH 7.5, 50°C, the enzyme:substrate (E:S) ratio of 80 U/g protein and 5h of hydrolysis. Under the pH treatment in a range of 1-11 or heat treatment at 100°C for up to 180 min, its CBC remained over 80%. The water holding capacity (WHC) and the oil-holding capacity (OHC) of the protein hydrolysate were 4.1±0.1 ml water/g protein hydrolysate powder and 4.5±0.1 ml oil/g protein hydrolysate powder, respectively. The solution also encompassed up to 8 essential amino acids, accounting for 36.1% of the total amino acid content. The protein hydrolysate could serve not only as a copper chelating agent, preventing copper-deficient or superfluous relating diseases, but also as a texturizer and an amino acid supplement fortified in various types of food.

AbstractVietnam's electricity system has been increasingly invested in development, meeting the growth rate of energy consumption demand in all socio-economic aspects. In particular, the energization and commission of solar and wind power plants greatly affect the stability and safety of the Vietnam power system. To improve the system's stability when incidents occur, one of the current solutions is to coordinate relay calibration settings which have a rapid reaction time at all voltage levels. To meet the above requirements, an option is to use Intelligent Electronic Device (IED) with fast processing speed, reduced latency, and multiple functions with intelligent algorithms. In addition, the solution to coordinate the protection areas between IEDs is being concerned. This paper presents the coordination of Permissive Over-Reaching Transfer Trip (POTT) interlock function of SEL 311L relay for power transmission lines to reduce the fault clearing time compared to the traditional calculation method.

AbstractMicroactuators are one of the most important components in microelectromechanical systems (MEMS). Therefore, designing effective out-of-plane actuators has been in progress for the last decade. This paper presents a novel design of the microactuator with a double stepped beam structure for large out-of-plane deflection output applied to microvalves. The design and analysis of the out-of-plane microactuator are implemented by the finite element method. Silicon is selected as the material of the actuator and the beam motion is generated by the Joule heating effect. Compared to a single stepped beam design reported in the literature, the simulation results show that the proposed double-stepped beam structure can deliver a much larger out-of-plane deflection. Under an applied current of 15 mA, the maximum deflection of the double stepped beam is nearly seven times higher than that of the single stepped beam structure. In addition, the stress analysis indicates that the largest stress (1.46 GPa) induced in the beam is much smaller than the yield strength (7 GPa) of the selected silicon material.

AbstractSeveral methods of power flow analysis for autonomous microgrids have been suggested; however, the implementation of these methods is challenging because of the lack of a swing bus and droop control characteristics. This paper puts forward an innovative technique for the load flow study of microgrids that autonomously operate according to droop control strategies incorporating cost rather than traditional droop schemes. This approach aims to extend the application of conventional power flow methodologies. In this approach, the incremental cost that is derivative of the fuel cost curve with respect to power output is embedded in droop schemes. The proposed approach deploys the iterative procedure to impose complex power that injects through the swing node to zero, which represents the autonomous operation of microgrids. Test results validate that this approach is exact and straightforward to implement; therefore, it can be highly beneficial for operating and planning microgrids

AbstractPeople- to some extent- are largely or partly affected by emotions in life as well as in work. Emotion exhaustion definitely influences the quality of the job of the employees. Authors intend to examine the factors that can possibly affect emotional exhaustion and the relationship between emotional exhaustion and work engagement. The research was conducted with the assistance of Smart PLS software through quantitative method with data of from employees working in Hochiminh city. Results of the study showed that ethical leadership has negative relationship to emotional exhaustion while it is positive to that of challenge demand. In addition, there bears a negative relationship between emotional exhaustion and work engagement. In theory, previous researches were invigorated through the results of the study. In practice, ethical leadership should be appreciated, and challenge demand should be minimized to prevent the incurrence of emotion exhaustion- an effective navigator for low engagement at work.

AbstractThe International English Language Testing, which involves the assessment of four English skills has been selected as the preferred test to measure English language proficiency of non-native English speakers. In IELTS academic writing, grammatical range and accuracy, of which test-takers are required to use is one of the four criteria used to evaluate candidates’ written essays, which record a considerable occurrence frequency of clause complexes. In order to shape clause complexes, two basic kinds of logical relations in language are employed: parataxis and hypotaxis. They indicate how two or more adjacent clauses are connected to each other in dependent or interdependent ways. This study conducts an analysis of how clause complexes in IELTS academic exposition and discussion essays are formed by highly successful test-takers in light of functional grammar, thereby providing non-native writers with a better understanding of accurate parataxis and hypotaxis employment to produce good IELTS academic writing essays.

AbstractAppraisal Theory, which has been developed by linguists Martin & White since the 1990s, is the development of functional grammar in terms of interpersonal meaning. Based on the Appraisal Theory, this article aims to investigate the three sub-categories namely “Affect”, “Judgement” and “Appreciation” in English Speeches by Nobel Peace Prize Laureates (ESNPLs) with focus placed on identifying and describing syntactic realizations and semantic features of the three above-mentioned sub-categories in 25 ESNPLs collected from the official website of the Nobel Prize in the period 2000-2019. With regard to the syntactic aspect, the sub-categories can be realized by means of various groups in which Nominal Groups, Verbal Groups and Adjectival Groups are more noticeable. In terms of the semantic aspect, the research results show that both positive and negative values were demonstrated in the above speeches; however, positive values proved to be dominant.
