| Thuyết Đánh giá được phát triển bởi hai nhà ngôn ngữ học Martin & White cùng các cộng sự từ những năm 1990, là sự phát triển của ngữ pháp chức năng về mặt nghĩa liên nhân. Dựa vào Thuyết đánh giá, bài viết này đặt mục tiêu tìm hiểu ba tiểu phạm trù “cảm xúc”, “phán xét” và “đánh giá” trong các bài diễn thuyết tiếng Anh của những người đoạt giải Nobel Hòa bình, chú trọng đến việc nhận diện và miêu tả sự hiện thực hóa cú pháp và các đặc điểm ngữ nghĩa của cả ba tiểu phạm trù nêu trên trong 25 bài diễn thuyết được thu thập từ trang thông tin chính thức của giải thưởng Nobel giai đoạn 2000-2019. Về mặt cú pháp, các tiểu phạm trù được nhận diện qua các nhóm từ khác nhau, trong đó đáng chú ý hơn cả là nhóm danh từ, nhóm động từ và nhóm tính từ. Về mặt ngữ nghĩa, kết quả nghiên cứu cho thấy cả giá trị tích cực và tiêu cực đều được thể hiện trong các bài diễn thuyết nói trên, song giá trị tích cực tỏ ra vượt trội hơn. |

| Abstract: |
| Appraisal Theory, which has been developed by linguists Martin & White since the 1990s, is the development of functional grammar in terms of interpersonal meaning. Based on the Appraisal Theory, this article aims to investigate the three sub-categories namely “Affect”, “Judgement” and “Appreciation” in English Speeches by Nobel Peace Prize Laureates (ESNPLs) with focus placed on identifying and describing syntactic realizations and semantic features of the three above-mentioned sub-categories in 25 ESNPLs collected from the official website of the Nobel Prize in the period 2000-2019. With regard to the syntactic aspect, the sub-categories can be realized by means of various groups in which Nominal Groups, Verbal Groups and Adjectival Groups are more noticeable. In terms of the semantic aspect, the research results show that both positive and negative values were demonstrated in the above speeches; however, positive values proved to be dominant. |
